Ant
Another painting where colour took precedence, allowing the colour to have its own 'presence'. Here is my friend Ant, resplendent in his 'flanny'. I consciously reduced my palette to 'three' colours whilst again allowing the detail to rest against a simple background. This painting, I think, shows how detailed realism can remain contemporary; after a while 'Oh he has a blue face, I hadn't noticed'.
